Team Talk and Discussion Forums Help

eCYBERMISSION offers several discussion opportunities for Team Advisors, CyberGuides and students through our Discussion Forums and Team Talk Chat sessions. Below is a summary of what each of these communication methods are.

  • General Discussion Forums – There are several public Discussion Forums on the eCYBERMISSION website for Team Advisors and students to participate in, including: "Ask a CyberGuide", Team Advisor’s Forum, Mission Challenge Forums and a Social Forum.
  • Team Discussion Forums – Team Discussion Forums are public forums, viewable by all registered eCYBERMISSION participants. While these forums are exclusively for a specific team to utilize, they are still public. Team Advisors must request a Team Discussion Forum by emailing or calling Mission Control.
  • Team Talk Chat – Team Talk is an online collaboration tool for CyberGuides, Team Advisors and students. It provides users with an avenue to communicate with each other through Instant Messaging and Private Chat Rooms. To participate in a private, password-protected chat, contact Mission Control. You will need to provide the team name and the approved usernames for the chat room. In addition, you will need to provide the password the team will use to access the private team chat.

Troubleshooting

If you are having trouble getting Team Talk to work on your computer, there are two steps you should take to diagnose and fix the problem. Note: If you are using a Macintosh, we recommend finding an available PC when you need to use Instant Messaging.

  • Enable JavaScript on your Internet Browser.
  • Make sure your Pop-Up Blocker settings allow Instant Messaging.
